Cappadocia

Cappadocia is the Shadow where Faylinn was born and raised.

It is a land of extremes. The sun shines for half the year, and for half the year, rain falls. In the dry season - called the daylight season - the place is a desert; in the wet season - referred to as darklight - plants run wild, the landscape turning into an equatorial rainforest.

There are humans in Cappadocia, and their fashion is to wear light, covering fabrics in the daylight months and leather and silks and heavier stuff in the darklight months. Even now, many years after leaving, Faylinn tends to follow the same patterns of clothing.

But aside from the humans, there are also the Others. These are the beings that allow the darklight season to be so fertile. They are elven in appearance, and druidic in power; these are not Tolkein elves, though they share the looks, as each Other serves a household and makes it grow.
